The library contains more than 11,000 books spanning interests and reading abilities of our kindergarten through eighth grade students. Multi-format curriculum materials support our educational objectives in all grade levels and subject areas. The library catalog can be viewed online: www.saintraphael.follettdestiny.com
Kindergarten through fifth-grade students visit the library weekly, while learning to self-select and checkout books. Second-grade students begin to use the online catalog independently and continue to develop their expertise through the upper elementary grades. Middle school students visit the library individually to select and self-checkout books.
The library program is a resource for teachers where classroom research skills are integrated in subject areas. Research skills are developed through the grade levels.
Additional library program services include hosting visiting authors, annual book fair, as well as student voting for the NC Children’s Book Award nominated books each year.
