ST. RAPHAEL CATHOLIC SCHOOL ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
ARRIVAL PROCEDURE FOR ALL STUDENTS:
1. Please approach the line only from North Bend Drive, so that we have no collisions or persons “taking cuts” in the line. Do not enter from Falls of the Neuse Road.
2. Students are to be dropped off in the carpool line. Please do not park the car and walk the children through the traffic into the building.
3. Please unload ten or eleven cars at a time beginning at 8:05 a.m. by pulling all the way up. An adult will be present to help keep children safe. Please do not wait for volunteers and/or safety patrol to open your car door. Have your child open the door and close it by themselves to keep the line moving. Remind your child to walk only on the sidewalk for safety.
4. Parents who have office business to take care of are asked to do this after the children have been dropped off. Please park your car behind the school in the Raphael Hall parking lot, and walk around to the front school doors. The back door will not be open, so please do not knock.
5. Please do not block the driveway to the rectory at any time.
HOW TO DISPLAY YOUR FAMILY CARPOOL CARD: Attach your card to a hanger, and hang it from your rear-view mirror. Do not place in windshield, it is difficult to read. If you are picking up another family’s child(ren), get a family carpool card from them, and display that family’s card as well. Additional cards can requested by contacting the school office.
IF YOUR FAMILY CARPOOL CARD IS YELLOW: Your child will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. (12:00 p.m. on half-days.) Please be at the school ready to pick up your child at that time.
IF YOUR FAMILY CARPOOL CARD IS BLUE: Your child(ren) will be dismissed at 3:10 p.m. (12:10 p.m. on half-days.) DO NOT come any earlier. You will be required to loop back around if you are in line before the students are outside.
IF YOUR FAMILY CARPOOL CARD IS PINK: Your child(ren) will be dismissed at 3:20 p.m., but please DO NOT get in line any earlier than 3:20 p.m. (12:20 p.m. on half-days.) You will be required to loop around if you are in line before students are outside.
IF YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH A CARPOOL: Please fill out the attached form and return it to the school office at least one day before you start the carpool. The students will be dismissed with the oldest student in the carpool. SO, if you have a kindergarten student with an yellow carpool card, but he/she is being picked up with a family that has a pink carpool card, all the students will be picked up at 3:20 pm.

It is extremely important that you do not cut through the traffic islands to cut into the line. ALL VEHICLES must go around “Carpool Curve” (Indicated on map on back). Please be understanding!
2. Please display the family carpool card of every child to be picked up in your car from your rearview mirror. Please continue to display the family carpool cards until your child(ren) are safely in your car.
3. Changes in carpools are to be arranged by parents. You must inform the school office if your child is to go home with someone else. Please plan ahead whenever possible to avoid last minute confusion. Your child will not be allowed to go home with a friend if the school has not been notified by a note (or a phone call for last minute emergencies).
4. Please do not block the driveway to the rectory at any time.
