Mrs. Schumann graduated from Towson University in 1989 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. While attending college she also studied abroad at Bishop Grosseteste College in Lincoln, England. She began her teaching career in Baltimore County, Maryland where she taught third grade for two years and first grade for a year. She got married in 1992 and moved to Seminole County, Florida where she continued to teach first grade and then kindergarten until 1996. After taking some time off to begin her own family she returned to teaching in 2001 at Nativity Catholic School in Brandon, Florida. She taught Pre-Kindergarten for six years at Nativity before her family moved to Cary, NC in 2007. She spent one year teaching pre-school at Saint Andrew’s Early Childhood Center in Apex before starting at Saint Raphael. In the State of North Carolina she holds a professional license in Birth through Kindergarten and Elementary Education (Grades K-6). She has been teaching Kindergarten at Saint Raphael Catholic School since 2008.
Ms. Weaver graduated from East Carolina University, in Greenville, NC, with a degree in Elementary Education and Reading Specialist Certification. Upon graduation, she began working for Norfolk, VA Public Schools, where she taught Kindergarten. After 2 years she moved back to NC and taught Kindergarten, First and Second grades for Granville County Public Schools. After several years off to stay home with her children, she taught at North Raleigh United Methodist Preschool. In 2002, she joined the staff of St. Raphael Catholic School as the Reading Resource teacher. In 2009 she moved back to the classroom to teach Kindergarten.

Mrs. Hamrick has been a teacher at St. Raphael for almost twenty years. She has watched the school grow from a small, single grade level school, to the wonderful school it is today. She graduated from Radford University in Virginia with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. She began her teaching career at a Catholic School in Greensboro where she taught Kindergarten for seven years. After moving to Raleigh with her family, she returned to teaching at SRCS where she has been happy to be in first grade.

Ms. Pallini grew up in Upstate New York and moved to North Carolina in 2001. When she started her college education, she was on the path to become a pharmacist. After working in a pharmacy and traveling to train other employees, she realized God had a different plan- she was meant to teach. She took classes while working full-time in the pharmacy and graduated from University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Ms. Pallini joined the SRCS staff in 2013. She is looking forward to another wonderful year in first grade!

Mrs. Scully graduated from the University of Hartford, in Hartford, CT, with a degree in Elementary Education in 1992. The following year, she graduated from Boston College with a degree in Moderate Special Needs. Upon graduation, she began working with Wake County Public Schools, where she worked in Special Education, grades K-5 and a self-contained 4th grade class, for a total of 6 1/2 years. After several years off to stay home with her children, she taught Preschool at Millbrook Baptist Kindergarten. In 2007, she joined the staff of St. Raphael Catholic School.

Ms. Watson is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina and attended Catholic Schools from Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade. She graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology as well as receiving her K-6th Teaching Certification. She has served on the Young Alumnae Board at Meredith College for the last eight years. This will be Miss Watson's thirteenth year teaching Second Grade at St. Raphael Catholic School. She has the great privilege of helping her students prepare for Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Miss Watson has a deep passion for Second Grade and each year brings a new and rewarding experience. She is happiest when working with her students and watching them succeed. Miss Watson is looking forward to another incredible year.

Mrs. Gaukel loves children! She is a mother of three young souls and has also taught for eight years, seven of them here at St. Raphael Catholic School teaching third grade. She was a Youth Minister at Christ the King Parish in Wisconsin working with middle and high school students and considers it an honor to be a positive, Catholic influence on our next generation. Growing up, she attended Catholic schools all of her life, and graduated from Marquette University with a double bachelors in Theology and Social Philosophy. Realizing that Catholic education was her calling, she later did extensive post- baccalaureate work at Edgewood College (also a Catholic institution) to earn numerous teaching certifications that enable to teach Elementary Education as well as Middle School Education in the subjects of Math, Science, LA, and SS in both Wisconsin and North Carolina.

Mrs. Dapolito joined SRCS in 2011. Before pursuing teaching, Mrs. Dapolito was on a different career path. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. Quickly after graduating, she realized her heart was not in the job. After substitute teaching and serving as a teaching assistant in special education, she returned to Ithaca College and received a Masters of Science in Childhood Education. She became actively involved with her passions of education and working with children. Prior to her move to North Carolina, she was employed by Ithaca City School District. In addition, she was an assistant Irish dance teacher in Syracuse, New York. Her other education experiences include: volunteering at Harlem Promise Academy, mentoring refugees for the Karen Burmese Mentoring Project, and serving as an educator at the Science Center, a local science museum in Ithaca, New York.

Mrs. Hribar is a graduate of Northern Illinois University and received a Bachelor’s Degree and certification to teach special education with a concentration on students with Learning Disabilities and Behavior Disorders. Mrs. Hribar worked in the Chicago area from 1986-1996 as a resource teacher for grades K-6, a self-contained teacher for grades 1-4, and as a resource teacher in a high school. In 2006, she completed course work at East Carolina University and was certified to teach elementary education. Mrs. Hribar has worked for the Diocese of Raleigh since August of 2006. While at Saint Raphael Catholic School, Mrs. Hribar has been involved in several committees including the Students’Assistance Team, the Catholic Schools Week Committee, the Mission and Vision Committee, Chairperson of a standard committee for school reaccreditation, and coordinator of the fifth grade safety patrol. Mrs. Hribar changed from teaching fifth grade to fourth grade in 2016.

Miss Rosinski comes to Saint Raphael with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education from Immaculata University. Miss Rosinski also holds a Masters of Education Degree from North Carolina State University with a focus on New Literacies and Global Learning paired with a Reading Specialist Certification. While in Philadelphia, Miss Rosinski worked in a variety of classroom settings including behavior, learning support, neurologically impaired and general education before joining the Saint Raphael team in 2012. Miss Rosinski has worked on various committees at SRCS and loves teaching fourth grade!

Mrs. Brictson is a native of Denver, Colorado and a product of Catholic education from preschool through graduate school. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Diversified Liberal Arts and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of San Diego. She previously taught at Providence Day School in Charlotte and Cure of Ars Parish School in Leawood, Kansas. After many years at home raising her children (Ford--SRCS 2015, Katherine--SRCS 2020, and Will--SRCS 2020), she returned to the classroom as the assistant teacher in third grade for two years and now looks forward to teaching fifth grade.

Mrs. Rifenburg graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Radford University. She then went on to teach in the same county that she graduated high school from. Mrs. Rifenburg spent nine years teaching third and fifth grade in Loudoun County Virginia. She and her family moved to Raleigh in 2015 where she spent her tenth year teaching in Wake County. Mrs. Rifenburg is very excited to be a staff member at SRCS and is loving her fifth grade class!

Ms. Trickett is originally from Cleveland, Ohio where she attended Saint Albert the Great Catholic School. In 2007, her family relocated to Raleigh where she attended Saint Raphael's as an eighth grader. Ms. Trickett completed her high school career at Cardinal Gibbons High School. Following high school, she attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte on an athletic scholarship to play soccer and earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. Ms. Trickett is excited to be back at Saint Raphael's as a fifth grade teacher!
Having lived in Raleigh for 31 years Mrs. Colopy almost feels like a native. She knows she loves North Carolina beaches and mountains. Attending college in Ohio, she taught in Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Mrs. Colopy was the 2008 recipient of the Diocese of Raleigh Lewis Award which recognizes excellence in teaching. After retiring from a 19 year career at SRCS, she was trained in Wilson Reading and taught at All Saints Academy for a year. She has been trained in Direct Instruction and worked at Youngsville Academy. For the last three years she has tutored after school for The Hill Center of Durham using programs based on Orton-Gillingham instruction. Mrs. Colopy is excited to be back at St. Raphael helping teacher’s help their students be successful as a resource teacher.
Mrs. Palmer graduated from the University of Alabama with an Early Childhood/Elementary Education degree and then went on to get her Master's Degree in Reading from University of West Georgia. She taught elementary school for 10 years before taking a break to stay at home with her 3 children. She is now back in the classroom as the K-5 Resource Teacher.
Mrs. Koenig received her degree in Nursing in New Jersey, prior to relocating to North Carolina in 1997. After spending many fulfilling years working as a Registered Nurse, she decided to leave the hospital setting in order to stay at home with her three sons, Tyler (Class of 2008), Matthew (Class of 2019), and Tommy (Class of 2020). Some of her favorite moments have been spent volunteering in many different capacities at SRCS over the past 10 years. Mrs. Koenig joined the staff as a Teacher Assistant in Kindergarten in 2016. Mrs. Koenig feels truly blessed to be a part of our Kindergarten team!
Erin Lockhart holds a BA in English from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. Her career in education includes teaching a variety of levels of high school English in both Illinois and North Carolina, coaching track at a Catholic middle school, developing middle and high school pre-service English teachers, and serving on a curriculum advisory board at Illinois State University. After resigning her positions to stay at home with her two daughters, both current SRCS students, she is excited to rejoin the classroom as the third grade assistant.
Mrs. Woods serves her second full year as a Teaching Assistant in kindergarten this year. She previously worked at the Saint Raphael after school program for 3 years responsible for K-3 age group and has spent a significant amount of time volunteering at Saint Raphael over the past 6 years. Mrs. Woods has a medical assistant's degree and has spent most of her adult life working with children in one capacity or another.
Mrs. Gasper is the first grade assistant to Mrs. Hamrick in 1A. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from College Misericordia (Dallas, PA) which is now Misericordia University. She also hold a minor in Early Childhood Ed. She has seven years teaching experience as a First Grade lead teacher in a parochial school in upstate NY, before moving to NC. Her teaching experience in NC has been mainly on the campus of St. Raphael. She started working in the library 15 years ago for two school years. She also has one year experience at the ECC with the four year old program. Her most recent has been an assistant in first grade for the past 9 years in the same position.
Laura Patterson was born and raised in Pennsylvania and attended the Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. The majority of her work experience is as a social worker in Child Protective Services. She has been a stay at home mother for the past several years and has two children, Josef and Gracie who attend St. Raphael.
Mrs. Powers graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Business and a minor in Spanish. During her junior year of college, she studied abroad and attended the University of Barcelona. Mrs. Powers has spent the last 15 years at home with her children, Anna (SRCS Class of 2011), Jack, Sam and Nick, who all currently attend SRCS. She has spent many hours volunteering at the school and is so excited to be joining Mrs. Scully and SRCS team.

Mrs. Rectenwald graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature in 1997. She continued her education at ECU and received her Master's of Business Administration in 1999. Mrs. Rectenwald has worked as a substitute teacher and helped coach the girls’ basketball and cross country teams at SRCS, she joined the staff in 2015. She and her husband have been parishioners of St. Raphael since 2007 and they have two daughters at SRCS, Samantha (Class of 2017) and Julia (Class of 2019). Go Guardians!
